The Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA) has established the Technical Working Group on Precision Medicine and Prescriptomics, with the aim of developing guidance documents and a Position Paper to support increasingly personalised and safe therapies. The new body has been established to address the complexity of care, particularly in chronic and elderly patients, and to enhance prescriptomics as an innovative tool in the management of polypharmacy.
AIFA President Robert Nisticò stressed that this represents a revolution destined to improve the quality of care and the sustainability of the healthcare system, thanks to the contribution of scientific societies and professional organisations involved in the Working Group’s activities.
