The Joint HMA/EMA Network Data Steering Group (NDSG) has published the new 2025–2028 Workplan, marking a key milestone in the evolution of medicines regulation in Europe. The document outlines a clear vision: leveraging data and artificial intelligence to make decision‑making for the protection of human and animal health more robust, transparent and timely.
The plan focuses on strengthening governance, on the advanced use of analytical tools and on the integration of AI into regulatory processes, while at the same time promoting interoperability, stakeholder collaboration and international harmonisation. The objective is to accelerate innovation, improve the use of real‑world evidence and support the digitalisation of the European regulatory network. The NDSG underlined that the Workplan will be updated every year to respond to technological developments and emerging public‑health needs.
